"Tomorrow Never Dies" - Unterrated Bond? Hear Me Out...

Okay, so, I'm watching "Tomorrow Never Dies" again, and maybe it's the late hour, but I think this movie gets a seriously bad rap. I know Brosnan gets some hate for being a "too-smooth" Bond, but I think he's actually pretty great here. He looks believably pissed off for most of the movie, and the action sequences are genuinely solid. I mean, that remote control BMW chase in the parking garage? Classic Bond! But the real question is about the villain, Elliot Carver. Hear me out... I have a theory. Carver is always dismissed as a one-dimensional Rupert Murdoch clone, but what if his deeper motivation isnt just world domination, but proving he's smarter than MI6. He is trying to manipulate the whole world to prove to himself that the 'intelligence' agencies of the world are garbage. He wants to be seen as the guy who outsmarted everyone. I think the movie hints at this, but it's not explicit. Like when he talks about his new broadcasting network and how he writes the news not reports it. It's about control, sure, but it's also about ego. A lot of the movies rely on the same old trope but I like this one! Also, Wai Lin should get more love. Michelle Yeoh is a badass, and her fight scenes with Bond are some of the best in the franchise. The whole dynamic between a Chinese agent and Bond forced to work together to stop a western madman is gold. Seriously, why hasn't Yeoh been back in another Bond movie? And why isn't she doing more action in general? Okay, rant over. Anyway, that's just my two cents. I think this movie is way more interesting than people give it credit for. What do you guys think? Am I crazy, or is there something to my Carver theory?
