Breakdown (1997) - Anyone Else's Heart Race the ENTIRE Time??

Okay, international cinema is my jam, but sometimes you just crave a good, old-fashioned thriller, you know? I recently re-watched "Breakdown" (1997) -- the Kurt Russell one where his wife disappears after their car breaks down, directed by...whoever directed it! It's seriously underrated. I mean, the suspense is relentless. Seriously, from the moment Amy gets into that trucker's cab, my palms were sweating. What really got to me was how believable it all felt. The sheer desperation of Jeff trying to find her, the creepiness of the 'Red' character played by J.T. Walsh (RIP, what a villain!), and the constant feeling that he's just one step behind...ugh, perfection. Did anyone else find the scene where he had to literally rip the license plate off that car so freaking intense? It was messy and desperate and real. I also wondered if it was weird only I got sad when that old lady got squished by the semi??! I'm not saying it's high art or anything, but as a pure, adrenaline-pumping thriller, I think it nails it. Were there plot holes? Probably. Did I care? Not one bit. It just gets under your skin in a way a lot of modern thrillers don't. What scenes specifically freaked you all out the most? Was I the only one ready to throw hands at the diner scene? I swear I audibly told Kurt Russell thru the TV to be careful lol
