The Straight Story - Surprisingly Stylish?

Okay, so who else has seen "The Straight Story"? I know, I know, it's not exactly a rom-com, lol. But hear me out! As SophiaOnFilm, obviously I pay attention to costumes, even in the most unexpected places. And this film, while super simple, has some understated style going on. Richard Farnsworth (Alvin Straight) basically wears the same thing the whole movie, right? Overalls, a worn shirt, that cap. But it's perfect. It tells you everything you need to know about him and his life. It feels so authentic, like they just pulled those clothes straight off a real farmer. And the way they're faded and patched? Chef's kiss! Honestly, that's harder to pull off than some elaborate period piece gown, IMO. It's that lived-in authenticity that really works. Plus, that little American flag pin on the overall strap? Genius! So subtle, but says so much. Even Sissy Spacek as his daughter, Rosie, has this really sweet, almost frumpy style that's totally believable. I especially remember her simple dresses and cardigans - very practical, very Midwest. Nothing flashy, but somehow still visually interesting. It all just adds to the overall feeling of realness and sincerity in the movie. Not exactly runway material, I know, but it's stylish in its own way - you know, telling a story through clothing. Did anyone else notice this or am I just a weirdo who sees fashion in everything, even tractors? Haha. Let me know your thoughts!
