Okay, "The Others" Messed Me UP (In a Good Way?)

Guys, I just finished watching "The Others" and I'm still kinda...shaken? Like, I knew going in it was supposed to be a ghost story, but wow. It's not just jump scares (though there are a few good ones!), it's the atmosphere. That big, creepy house in the fog, always dark, and Nicole Kidman as Grace just completely losing it...ugh, my heart! I was so stressed for her and those kids. And the whispering? I hate whispering in movies, it always gets under my skin. Specifically, there's this one scene where Anne and Nicholas are talking about seeing the "others" and Grace just SNAPS. She locks them in the closet and it's so intense! I felt terrible for everyone in that moment, even Grace, because you can tell she's just desperate to protect them. Kidman's acting was seriously phenomenal. My only complaint? The pacing was pretty slow in the beginning. It took a while to build up the suspense, but honestly, maybe that's what made the ending hit so hard. And that ENDING. NO SPOILERS (obviously!), but let's just say my jaw literally DROPPED. I honestly didn't see it coming, and I'm usually pretty good at figuring out plot twists. I had to rewind it and watch the clues again, and it all made perfect sense. Seriously, hats off to the writer/director (I need to Google who that was!). So, yeah, "The Others" isn't exactly a fun, lighthearted watch, but if you're looking for a genuinely creepy and thought-provoking ghost story that'll stay with you for days (and maybe give you nightmares!), definitely give it a try. Just, like, maybe watch it during the day? And with the lights on? lol. Let me know what you thought!
