Okay, I kinda loved xXx (don't judge me!)

Alright guys, so we watched xXx last night, the one with Vin Diesel. I know, I know, it's cheesy as hell, but OMG it's so much fun! Honestly, I was expecting it to be way worse. The whole 'extreme sports dude becomes a spy' thing is so ridiculous, but Xander Cage just owns it, you know? The scene where he's escaping those cops on the Corvette, doing ALL those stunts? Come on, that was legitimately cool, even if it defies every law of physics lol. And Marton Csokas as Yorgi? He's a pretty great villain! Super creepy, especially with that whole underground rave scene. I had to pause it a few times because it was bit TOO intense! Asia Argento's Yelena was cool, even though her motives were all over the place. I kinda wish they'd given her more to do besides look mysterious and conflicted. It felt like they were trying to make her a love interest, but then also a badass? It didn't quite gel. I think what makes it hold up (sort of) is that it doesn't take itself too seriously. Like, it KNOWS it's a dumb action movie, but it goes ALL IN. I'm not saying it's a cinematic achievement or anything, but for a brain-dead action flick, I had a blast! Plus, the soundtrack is kinda awesome in a nostalgic kinda way. Anyone else secretly like this movie, or am I completely alone here? Maybe I'm just a sucker for Vin Diesel's grumbling lol.
