Okay, So... "The Medallion" - Jackie Chan's Weirdest?
Alright guys, watched "The Medallion" last night with the crew and... wow. Just, wow. I'm a huge Jackie Chan fan, always have been. But this one? It's definitely... something. I mean, immortal warrior with superpowers? It felt kinda out there, even for him. The fight scenes were still cool, duh, especially the one in the warehouse with all the falling boxes, classic Jackie, but the whole storyline was just... strange. Like they threw a bunch of ideas at a wall and hoped something would stick. Claire Forlani was in it too, and she was fine, but her character felt super generic. Like, 'damsel in vague distress' kind of vibe. And the kid, yeah the kid... I don't know what to say about the kid. Half the time I didn't know why he was there. Honestly, I think they were banking on the special effects, but even those look kinda dated now. Remember those early 2000s CGI effects? Yeah... Anyone else see this and think it was kinda all over the place? Like, funny, sort of action-packed, but ultimately kinda forgettable? I still love Jackie, but this isn't exactly one I'll be rushing to rewatch anytime soon. Maybe it's just me, but it felt like a solid 5/10. What did you guys think?
