Corpse Bride STILL Holds Up! 💀👰‍♀️
Okay, so I rewatched Corpse Bride last night (duh, it's October!) and OMG, it's still sooooo good. Like, I first saw this when I was, like, 13, and it totally shaped my whole aesthetic, lol. Seriously though, the animation is just incredible. The way the characters move, especially Emily's veil... chef's kiss. And the music? Danny Elfman is a freakin' genius, period. That Bonejangles song? Iconic. I'm still humming it. Victor is kinda a dweeb, ngl. But like, a lovable dweeb. You just feel bad for the dude. I actually low-key ship him with Emily more than Victoria sometimes, which I know is probably a hot take. Emily's backstory is just so tragic! You can't help but root for her to find some kinda happiness. Plus, her design is just goth goals, right? I mean, blue skin and a tattered wedding dress? Yes, please! The Land of the Dead is WAY more fun than the Land of the Living in this movie, haha. Seriously, the skeletons throwing parties and drinking…wine? I dunno…but it looks banging. I love that the movie isn't afraid to be a little dark and kinda weird, but still has this underlying message of hope and true love. It's just a vibe. Anyone else feel like Corpse Bride is underrated compared to Nightmare Before Christmas? Discuss!!
