Okay, "Déjà Vu" (2006) with Denzel - Time Travel That Kinda Holds Up?

So, I just finished watching "Déjà Vu" again. It's been a while, but man, that movie still hits a certain spot. Don't know who directed this one, but they cooked. The whole concept of using time to see the past, not actually go there at first, is pretty cool. I remember being blown away by the tech when I first saw it. Denzel Washington, as always, is just... Denzel. Solid. He sells the whole 'obsessed agent' thing really well, especially when he's trying to figure out what happened on that ferry. What gets me is the shift halfway through when he decides he has to go back. The stakes just shoot through the roof. I was so stressed when he's driving that GTO trying to catch up to Val Kilmer's character (which, by the way, Kilmer's chillingly good as the bad guy). The whole 'bleeding through the time barrier' effect was also pretty intense. I remember pausing it the first time I watched it to see how they did it, no idea lol. Kinda makes you think, what would you do if you could go back, y'know? Okay, things are a bit far fetched when he is actually going back in time. I'm not a scientist, but it all seems way too easy. Some things don't make sense like how the time machine works. I would consider it a plot hole, but I won't complain too much. Overall, even with a few cheesy moments and some plot holes you could drive a truck through, "Déjà Vu" is a solid time-travel action flick. Denzel carries it, the premise is interesting, and the action is well done. Good late-night watch. Anyone else still dig this one?
