Just finished The Paper Chase - "Here begins your life"?
Okay, so I *finally* got around to watching "The Paper Chase." I know, I know, late to the party, right? But hey, gotta catch 'em all, one quote at a time. And this movie is QUOTE CITY. Kingsfield is a freaking legend. Like, intimidating-professor goals. "You teach yourselves the law. I train your minds. You come in here with a skull full of mush; and, if you survive, you'll leave thinking like a lawyer." Gives me chills! Seriously, the guy's practically a walking soundbite. Hart, though? I felt bad for the dude. Law school looks brutal. Plus, dating Kingsfield's daughter? Talk about pressure. I loved the scene where he's just frantically highlighting his textbook and yelling. We've all been there, right? That whole dynamic between him and Susan was kinda weird though, tbh. Something felt off with their relationship, and I wasn't totally buying it. Honestly, the ending was a bit anticlimactic. Hart burning the diploma? Was that supposed to be, like, a rebellious act? Or was he just saying he didn't need Kingsfield's approval? I’m still not sure. Overall, good movie, definitely worth a watch, especially if you're into law or just like a good dose of academic angst. It's not perfect, but it's got its moments. And plenty of quotable lines for the collection. "Look about you, Mr. Hart. Here begins your life."
