Friday: Still Holds Up After All These Years 🤣

Okay, so last night me, Maya, and Khalil were trying to find something to watch. Total classic movie night vibes. Khalil suggested 'Friday', which I hadn't seen in FOREVER. Maya had never even seen it! I was like, girl, you're missing out. Anyway, we put it on and I gotta say, it still cracks me up. Ice Cube is just perfect as Craig, the way he's always just reacting to everything. And Chris Tucker, oh man, Smokey is comedic gold. I forgot how many iconic lines are in that movie. "Bye Felicia" lives on forever! The whole vibe of just sitting on the porch all day trying to avoid trouble is so relatable, even if I've never been in their exact situation, lol. The scene with Debo stealing Red's bike is still terrifying and hilarious at the same time. And the ending with Smokey getting the money – Chef's kiss! Honestly, I think the director really nailed the lazy Friday afternoon feeling. It makes you want to just chill with your friends. I was thinking tho, it's interesting how they made such a funny movie about, like, not having a job and facing some serious stuff. I mean, Debo was a legit bully. But it's all just played so perfectly for laughs. I did get kinda sad when Smokey disappeared at the very end, but it was good to know he was safe. I wonder if that dude still owes Big Worm some money? Overall, 'Friday' is hilarious, quotable, and a great throwback. Maya loved it, so now she gets all the references. If you haven't seen it in a while, or somehow gasp never have, give it a watch. It's just pure fun. 😆
