Just Married: Score's Surprisingly Decent, Movie...Well...

Alright soundtrack nerds, HughesReviews back at it. Let's talk about… "Just Married." Yeah, I know, I KNOW. Rom-com cheese-fest starring Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy (RIP). But hear me out - I'm on a mission to listen to everything, and Christophe Beck actually put together a pretty enjoyable score for this one. It's not groundbreaking, obviously, but it's got that classic Beck charm – playful, romantic, and definitely leans into the comedy. There are some genuinely sweet moments, especially during the scenes supposed to be romantic, like when they're driving through Europe (before everything inevitably goes wrong, lol). He uses a lot of light strings and woodwinds, creating a really whimsical feel that almost makes you forget how predictable the plot is. I think he really had fun leaning into the goofy mishaps. Honestly, without the score, I'm not sure I could have made it through the whole movie. The humor just isn't my thing, and I found myself cringing more than laughing. Although, Brittany Murphy always had a charm about her that made it fun to watch her on screen, even if the film isn't. So, verdict: skip the rom-com and just add the score to your playlist. You might be surprised. Anyone else actually like the movie? Talk to me in the comments – I'm genuinely curious!
