Anyone else get ALL the feels from "The First Time" (2012)?!

Okay, so I just rewatched "The First Time", that teen rom-com, and honestly, I'm still a sucker for it. I know it might seem a bit…basic, maybe? Compared to some of the stuff I usually watch (international cinema, give me all the subtitles!), but there's just something SO relatable about it. The awkwardness, the trying-too-hard-ness, the whole "OMG, is this ACTUALLY happening?" vibe – it takes me RIGHT back. I especially loved the scene where Dave (Dylan O'Brien) is trying to impress Aubrey (Britt Robertson) with his 'cool' music taste. Like, we've ALL been there, right? Trying to be someone we're not to impress a crush. Cringe, but so real! And Britt Robertson, ugh, she's just so effortlessly cool in that role. It's not a perfect movie, by any means, but that raw, vulnerable connection they have just gets me every time. But here's my question for everyone who's seen it: Did anyone else think Aubrey's whole commitment phobia seemed a liiiittle bit forced? Like, it felt a bit convenient for the plot, you know? I mean, I get that teens have issues, but it felt a bit exaggerated, especially compared to the rest of the movie, which felt so grounded. What did you guys think? Or maybe I'm just being too critical! Let me know your thoughts!
